NSB Wine Walk Fills Our Saturday with Fun

In honor of the 10th Anniversary, we decided to revisit NSB’s famous Flagler Avenue Wine Walk, and had another great experience. The Wine Walk takes place the last Saturday of the month and includes about a dozen stops and 100 wines on or near Flagler Avenue. It’s a fun festive day, rain or shine.

We started at Cafe Heavenly near the West end of Flagler and plotted our path to the East heading for our last stop at Tony & Joe’s. The passports are $30 (or $25 if you bring back your Wine Walk glass). Each passport comes with 20 sampling tickets which are exchanged for wine samples at each stop. The samples require payment of 1 or more tickets based on the quality and cost of the wine.

It’s an awesome value. You could literally get 20 pours with your admission, although most of the folks in our group mixed and matched some high-end and lower-end offerings. Bottom line was that we all tasted about ten new wines, found new favorites and had a blast in the process.

Aside from the wine selections, the stroll down Flagler includes some tasty food offerings, plenty of browsing opportunities in the hip local Flagler Avenue shops, and the opportunity to hang out with and connect with a fun and diverse crowd of participants.

Highlights other than the wine included:

  • Sampling some of the best soups in the city at Cafe Heavenly, including their killer lobster bisque
  • The 3 ticket “Bend Over” at That’s Amore
  • The cool garden atmosphere at Clean Karma Jewelry
  • Sharing a wonderful sandwich at Manzano’s
  • The food offerings: awesome custom cupcakes at TaDa Gallery, free hot dogs at Traders, and homemade paella at Peanuts
  • Killer singalong version of “Proud to be an American” at Trader’s

Here’s our photo gallery from the event (thanks to Pam Anderson and Jackie Creedon for the photos).
