Paradise Found: Spa at Riverview

My wife and I were looking for a relaxing escape as we celebrated our Anniversary last weekend. Consensus from our friends was a tropical retreat right on Flagler Avenue – The Spa at Riverview.

We reserved the Couples Oasis Massage($200), which featured a 50 minute signature massage with hot stones. We were also invited to arrive early to enjoy their serene tropical retreat beforehand, and were glad we did.

The Waterfall Pool at the Spa at RiverviewWe checked in an hour early and then visited the locker room where we changed into our swim gear and securely stowed our valuables. The locker rooms are equipped with showers, as well as everything you need to freshen up (hair dryers, deodorants, creams, etc.).

And then, we chilled. We slid into comfy, shaded lounge chairs, surrounding the two heated mineral pools. The area is covered with lush tropical foliage, and truly feels like paradise. It is hard to believe we were a scant 100 feet from the hustle and bustle of Flagler Avenue, as we relaxed in paradise.

They also offer a nice menu, if you choose to have a light lunch, and offer a selection of complimentary self-serve snacks and revitalizing waters such as cucumber and lemonade.

After an hour outside, we were ready for our massages. The upstairs room was dimly lit with soothing music, and the massage beds were super comfortable.

The massage itself was a fantastic 50 minute experience – invigorating, soothing and refreshing.  After leaving the massage room you are served a glass of wine on the house while you unwind with a warm neck wrap.  We briefly headed back to the pool for a quick dip, before heading home – relaxed, rejuvenated and re-energized!

The spa staff also offers facials, manicures and pedicures. For more information and package information, check out their website here: The Spa at Riverview.

NSB Insider Tips

  • Make reservations – the services at The Spa at Riverview are great and they are often booked.
  • Take advantage of the misting fans while you lounge poolside.  They make a nice difference on the warmer days.
